Drupal on Ubuntu – What A Pain

I’m still slogging on with this but it’s becoming increasingly painful. I have the base install working and I’ve some modules installed.

Frankly, drupal could take a page from WordPressMU’s install process.  It’s a matter of enabling the multisite/multiuser set up in the config file and then deciding if you want sub-directories, sub-domains, or separate domains from the admin interface. Not drupal….  It requires tinkering with serveral of the drupal files, creating new directories, and then adding a new virtual host to apache.  Not many hosting providers are going to let you keep stopping & restarting a shared apache.
