In-DUH-viduals Making Noises

It seems that a Pennsylvania woman is trying to charge her neighbor’s son with harassment because he meows at her.  Apparently, his cat was given away by his parents because she accused the cat of using her flower bed as a litter box.  While I dislike this as much as anyone, the boy hasn’t said anything to the woman other than making the meowing sounds.

My personal feeling is that this protected free speech.  He hasn’t slandered her or been threatening to her.  He’s just making cat noises.  Read the article and tell me what you think.

  1. “Police have charged a 14-year-old boy with that crime. Michael Loughner is accused of meowing whenever he sees his 78-year-old neighbor, Alexandria Carasia.”Because a 78-year-old grandmother is every 14-year-old’s fantasy. ;p

  2. Reading the article made me place the protagonists in a Wisteria Lane type of neighborhood. Which makes it (the story) likely. I guess in some places the limits for embarrassing claims are lower than in others.Since it’s comment time, may I ask where your interest of squeezing a *-DUH-* in every other title comes from ?Bogdan

  3. I think it’s guilt for making the boy’s parents get rid of their cat in the first place. Every day he is reminding her of it and every time he does, it eats away at her. Silly woman – forcing an animal to be evicted from its home for the sake of her garden. The cat was only doing what comes naturally to it. She should know better at her age.
