It really says a lot about the state of customer service these days, when someone posts a “cheat sheet” on how to reach real humans at various businesses.  What that means is this:



  1. Your customers are sick of the machine. 

  2. Your employees are hiding behind voice mail to avoid your customers.

  3. If someone else offers them the same product for the same price, but better service, your customer base is GONE. 

Sad but true tales of the modern world.  Now what the cheat sheet doesn’t mention (and many thanks to Paul English, BTW) is that a lot of these real humans are located in foreign countries and aren’t much better than the machine.  If you get them outside their script, they don’t speak english well enough to be of much assistance.
